Course Overview

This course explores how new and emerging technologies can become a powerful ally for creatives and future innovators. Students will master the design, development and deployment of creative ideas, enhanced by tools such as Augmented Reality, Social Media Design and Artificial Intelligence, learning to use them as valuable assets while maintaining crucial human insight and ethical responsibility.

Building on an understanding of how technology has influenced human behaviour in the digital era, this class will cover how to apply innovation portfolios within a creative production framework, ensuring consistency and relevance wherever audiences engage.

By the course’s end, students will have a repeatable framework for expressing and presenting the value of creative ideas through emerging technology that works across agencies, brands and freelance practice.

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply digital production principles to create compelling narratives using emerging technologies.
  • Design engaging digital experiences that influence audience behavior and foster meaningful interaction.
  • Curate and organize digital content to achieve impactful communication and brand integrity.
  • Conceptualize and implement pioneering digital projects that expand creative boundaries.
  • Manage end-to-end production processes for technology-driven creative ideas, from concept to deployment.

  • Present professional innovation portfolios showcasing strategic, creative, and technological mastery.

Assessment Criteria

Weekly Assignments (30%): The weekly delivery of core aspects of the Innovation Portfolio within the realms of what has been tasked by the practitioner.
Final Presentation (70%): A face to face presentation detailing the whole production process and learner findings of your final Innovation portfolio plus the submission of the final works.
